Sanjay Trehan, who had recently quit NDTV Convergence as CEO, is believed to have decided on destination next. It is understood that Trehan is headed to Microsoft Corporation to the head the portal MSN and would be reporting to Microsoft MD Hemant Sachdev. Microsoft officials or Trehan could not be contacted at the time of filing this report.
Regional kids channels looking to be summertime hits

Most of the popular kids channels in India at present are either in English or in Hindi. Whatever vernacular content is created for kids is either part of the GEC content mix or is dubbed audio tracks of national kids channels. The trend of separate kids channels in regional languages haven’t caught up yet and whether they will at all taste success is the big question here.

Cannes Lions 2009 has announced the jury members of the Design, Direct and Outdoor Lions’ juries. Quite a few Indians have made it to the jury list this year. Ray+Keshavan Sujata Keshavan Guha is on the Design jury list, while Direxions Marketing Solutions’ Leena Basrur is on the Direct Lions jury. DraftFCB+Ulka’s Chax is on Outdoor Lions’ jury list.
ESPN-STAR Sports renews Wimbledon broadcast rights for 6 years

ESPN-Star Sports (ESS) and The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club have announced a six-year broadcast rights agreement for Wimbledon Championship from 2009-14. This deal gives ESS exclusive broadcast rights including cable & satellite, and terrestrial and new multimedia rights across platforms in 24 markets across Asia.
Total Sports Asia partners Churchill Brothers; eyes $2 mn in media rights

Goan football club Churchill Brothers has entered into an exclusive partnership with Total Sports Asia (TSA) for sponsorship and licensing activities. It is also believed that TSA is looking at revenue of $2 million across media rights, sponsorship, licensing and merchandising. The long term partnership is said to be for more than 10 years.
